Memorial Day (almost)

We celebrated Memorial Day at the Brown's house a day early. The Langrehr family was also there. All the kids had a lot of fun playing together. It is always nice when we all get together, we don't even know the kids are there because they are so good. While the kids were off playing, we played games. We had a blast!

It was way past Olivia's bed time. She just couldn't handle it anymore.

The Garden

I found our first green tomatoes today. I'm not sure how long they have been there since they are very hard to see because they are the same color as the plant. There are actually quite a few of them.

We have had these zucchini and squash for a few days now. Hopefully they will be ready to pick by the end of the week.

Justin's Story

Justin had to write a story the other day at school about a planet. The teacher loved it so much that she showed it to the principal. The principal then asked him to read it over the intercom to the entire school. We were so proud of him. I will type it since the picture isn't real good.

Dear Mom,
How are you? I'm on Venus. It's very hard to write because my pen keeps on floating away. Did you know Venus is named after the roman God of love. And Venus has acid clouds that are very posionus. Now most people would talk about the planets moon's but Venus has no moons. And Venus has volcanos that never stop erupting. And it is 77 million miles away from the sun. Well my pen just flew away and I can't reach it.
Love,
Justin

Justin's 3rd Grade Concert

Justin's 3rd grade concert was also an art show. After they sang, and played their recorders, they got to take us out in the hall and show off their art. Justin did an awesome job on his picture. I didn't get any really good pictures of them singing. That is the hardest place to get a good picture in.

Mommy's Birthday

The kids helped Mau-Mau make me a birthday cake. They were so proud of themselves. She also made my usual German Chocolate cake, but Don and the kids don't eat that, so they made a regular chocolate.

Our Anniversary

Well it has been 18 fantastic years. 5 years of dating, and 13 years of marriage. We have had some good times, and bad times. Some happy times, and sad times. We have learned a lot about life. The most important thing that we have learned is to put God first in our marriage. After 18 years we can still say that we are best friends. We love each other more today than we did yesterday, and not near as much as we will tomorrow. This is one of my all time favorite pictures!

MOTHER'S DAY

We went to Six Flags this year for Mother's Day. We had a really nice time. The weather was nice and cool, and it wasn't very busy at all. We met up with our friends, the Browns, so the kids could all play together.

CUB SCOUT HIKE

The boys had a hike with Cub Scouts at Bee Tree Park. While on the hike they were doing a trash treasure hunt. When Justin went to pick up some trash, he found a $10 bill on the ground. We also found a nest of baby birds. The boys had a really good time. After the hike we let them play for awhile.

GRAPE VINES

Last year for our Anniversary I got Don 2 grape vines. It is something that he has wanted for awhile now. The vines grew pretty big over the summer, but of course didn't produce any fruit. Today we went out to check on the vines, and found the tiniest little clusters of grapes. We were all very excited.
