4th of July

The Brown's came over to Mom's house to celebrate the 4th of July with us. We had lots of food, fireworks, and games. We all had a really great time. It rained a couple of times, but we didn't let that stop us.

Brenden's calender

Brenden is a very rare child. He is really every mothers dream. He gets up early in the morning, gets dressed without being told, then folds his night clothes neatly at the bottom of his bed. He cleans his room all of the time, and then cleans Olivia's if it seems messy. If Justin steps a foot away from his bed, and didn't make it, Brenden makes it for him. He is always asking to vacuum or sweep. Then there are times he goes a little overboard. Most of the time he only uses his baby blanket at night, so that way his bed is already made in the morning. A couple weeks ago he wanted me to come in and see his calender. When I walked in he said "look mom, I marked off the rest of the days on my calender so I don't have to the rest of the month." That topped all. I think that was the funniest, and cutest thing he has ever done.

Summer Fun

We have had the BEST weather the last couple of days. The last couple of weeks have been so hot that we haven't been able to go outside at all. Our average temp. was around 97-99 with humidity out of this world. Well this week our highs have been around 81-82 with very little humidity. Needless to say, after being stuck in the house for 2 weeks, we have been outside a lot. Today Olivia talked Justin into drawing with sidewalk chalk in the front yard. They had a really good time together.
I think Olivia got more on her than she did the sidewalk.

Trip to the zoo with Cub Scouts

Today we had a trip to the zoo with the Cub Scouts after church. We had a lot of fun. The kids always love the zoo no matter how many times we go.

This is the cutest thing I think I have ever seen. He didn't care not one bit that there were 25 or 30 people watching him, he just wanted to take a little rest.

I think this water fountain is the kids favorite part of the zoo. Of course not for drinking, but for playing. I guess it is pretty hard to get a drink out of it, and not stick your hands in the water.
This bear waves. How cute is that?!?!

Stormy weather

Our kids are really afraid of storms. Well Justin and Olivia are. They don't really bother Brenden much, probably because he can sleep through anything. Justin always tries to act cool about it, but they really bother him. Tonight when I went in to check on the boys I found Justin with Twinky Bird. We gave Justin Twinky Bird for his second Easter. I'm not sure how he came up with the name Twinky Bird, but Justin has loved that duck since the day he got him. I just thought it was so cute that he grabbed that little security item to wrap his arms around to get him through the night.

Olivia kept fussing that she didn't want to be in her room because thunder was in her room. When we came into the living room she said that she didn't want thunder in her room, she wanted him to go to his house. How can one argue with that? So I wrapped her up in her favorite blanket on the sofa, and Daddy carried her to bed after she was sound asleep.
Brenden, with not a care in the world.

At, the rotten cat!

At is the most rotten cat I have ever seen. He thinks he should be pet 24 hours a day. Every night when the boys go to bed he goes running in to snuggle up with one of them. He has the typical cat attitude, us humans are here strictly for his pleasure.

Memorial Day (almost)

We celebrated Memorial Day at the Brown's house a day early. The Langrehr family was also there. All the kids had a lot of fun playing together. It is always nice when we all get together, we don't even know the kids are there because they are so good. While the kids were off playing, we played games. We had a blast!

It was way past Olivia's bed time. She just couldn't handle it anymore.

The Garden

I found our first green tomatoes today. I'm not sure how long they have been there since they are very hard to see because they are the same color as the plant. There are actually quite a few of them.

We have had these zucchini and squash for a few days now. Hopefully they will be ready to pick by the end of the week.
